Ada Reese Monthly: FIVE

Saturday, January 05, 2019

We had a busy month that included Ada's first flight, first bowl game, and her second state. All the travel and festivities ended in her first ear infection unfortunately. Ramsey actually caught pneumonia, and mama is finally recovering from a sinus infection too. So it's been quite a rough start to the year.

Ada has discovered her feet, which she constantly stares at and grabs. She alwayssss wants to sit up, and is so close to doing it on her own. I think she will definitely be sitting within the next couple of weeks, and I'm so looking forward to it! She doesn't like to lay on her back much anymore, which has obviously made it more difficult for me. I'm ready for her to finally have a little more independence, so I can get a much needed break every once in a while.

Ada finally has an appetite! She's never been much of an eater, so I think she may have hit a growth spurt. It would definitely explain the constant attachment to the boob. She constantly touches and reaches for things in front of her now, and of course things are being put straight into her mouth. It's funny to me that this is an instinct. Luckily we don't have many small toys to worry about, because that would be a difficult conversation to have with Ramsey.. hahaha.

My favorite moment this month happened while Ada was laying on her activity mat. She starts crying, and as I look up I see Ramsey sit down beside her. Ada's bib was covering her face (which she hates), and Ramsey gently moves the bib from her face and then pats her little chest. Ada instantly stopped crying. It was so sweet to see- Ramsey had no idea I was even watching. SUCH a good big sister!

We're excited for what this year has in store for us, and hopefully this first week hasn't been an indication of what's to come..HA.
