Ada Reese Monthly: FOUR

Wednesday, December 05, 2018

Here we are. Four months old. I cannot believe it. If I’m being completely honest, this was the hardest month yet. Ada finally surpassed Ramsey and became the more difficult child. Our little fuss bucket has been clingy, constantly fighting sleep, and just upset for no apparent reason a lot of the time. There were some really tough days with that combination- especially when Ramsey insisted on being difficult as well.

With that being said, it was also a month full of firsts for Ada. She laughed for the very first time! She’s only done it that one time, but it was the highlight of the month for sure. She is more mobile now too- she can roll from her belly to her back with ease. The first time she did it I was taking a picture of her under the tree, and as soon as I placed her on her belly she rolled right over! She did it twice in a row, instantly. I couldn’t believe it. Ramsey and I cheered her on in excitement. She hasn’t quite mastered rolling from back to belly yet- she can only make it to her side for now.

She can almost always be found with a fist in her mouth, and drool soaking her bib. She’s a little chatterbox at times, but not as much lately as she was when she first discovered her voice a few weeks ago. One of my favorite things she does is her 'Bubba Gump lip' as I call it. She uses her tongue to push out her bottom lip. This doesn't help the drool problem (ha!), but it's totally precious. Ada loves to grip and hold things. Ramsey isn’t a fan of Ada holding toys though, unless she brings them to her herself. Anytime I pick up something and give it to Ada a COMPLETE meltdown ensues. So we’re working on the whole sharing concept hahahahaha. Besides that they are still total besties. I love seeing them smile and each other while interacting. It completely melts my heart. I’m so happy that get to grow up together!

Zach and I both agree that she's starting to look a little more like me. Whenever I look at her now Zach's face doesn't jump out at me like it used to. I don't know if that's because I'm used to it at this point, or if it's because she's slowly changing day by day, but I'll take it! Her features are starting to darken, so I think that's why we're starting to see a little more me now.
