Nine Months

Our sweet girl is another month older! She has changed so much this past month. She slept through the night for the very first time FINALLY. I woke up panicked the morning after. We didn't do anything differently the night before- and typically we'll hear her wake up at least once and move around a little, even if she goes back to sleep on her own and doesn't cry. She slept through the night for several nights in a row and then BAM- a few nights of terribleeee sleep. So consistency hasn't exactly been established yet. Some nights she does better than others, it's just very off and on for now. Let me tell ya, I feel like a completely different person when she sleeps through the night. It's amazing what solid sleep does for a person!

She cut her first tooth!!! I've been waiting for this for monthsssss. I've thought she's been teething so many different times, and when she actually was she had absolutely no signs. No drool. Didn't chew on a single thing. Not really even cranky and her sleep was basically the same. It came through slowly and I still don't think it's as tall as it will be, but it's there. And trust me- it works. She bit me with it.. while nursing. It was all I could do to contain myself. It wasn't a clean, shallow bite either. It was a deep crater. This happened last Thursday, and by Tuesday of this week it was definitely infected. I tried my best to keep it clean- using peroxide after she nursed and my nipple cream, but it slowly went downhill. Yes- I was still nursing her. I'm finally pumping now though to help it heal. Ramsey has never taken a bottle, so after struggling to nurse through the pain for a few days I gave in and pumped. I let her drink it from a cup the first time, and then we tried a bottle after that. I guess it finally clicked and now she's taking bottles!!! Life changing stuff. Well anyway, I called my doctor and I went in for an exam. Yep- infected. And my doctor confirmed that it was a really bad bite. So now I'm on antibiotics. The silver lining though- now Ramsey Kate will take a bottle.

She gives the sweetest open mouth kisses and sticks her fingers up my nose. She pets my eyelashes too while I try to sleep a little longer in the morning. Precious stuff. She pulls up on everything, and strongly prefers standing over sitting. She pushes around her Fisher Price walker (it has a little handle across the top and four wheels), and she does so good taking steps behind it! She's still obsessed with music, but watching the music video to 'That's What I Like' by Bruno Mars is her absolute favorite. She smiles and laughs the entire time. As soon as she sees the opening of the video she's instantly in a good mood. It's used often to cheer her up mid-tantrum. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

She's definitely becoming a daddy's girl now- she cried and didn't want to let go of him when he left for work Tuesday morning. They always sit and play together in the afternoon, which I love because mama finally gets a mini break! Zach is totally a fan of it too- it warms his little heart for sure. He can't stop talking about how she was upset to see him leave. And she'll reach for him a lot more now too. Especially if we're around other people and I'm out of her sight.

She has so much personality and sass. She's definitely headstrong and has no problem voicing her opinion. She's a major chatterbox, and I can only imagine what she'll be saying when she knows actual words. We're in for it.. LOL. She's a handful, but I wouldn't change a thing.
